No. 9 Resources and Know how
Teamwork – Negotiation – Cooperation – Strategy – Time Planning

12 to 100 participants and more. Time needed including rules explanation and determining the winners: 120-135 minutes.

You form 4 to 20 and more teams. Each team represents a country. There are two kinds of countries: Countries with resources like gold, copper or diamonds and industrial ones, knowing how to proceed the resources to valuable products. No team is able to succeed alone, everyone must cooperate. During the game, they try to finish products and sell them to the game master. The prices tend to increase and change according to demand and offer. In addition, teams can participate at the success of other teams by buying sharing of them.

After 90 minutes, the richest team wins.

 

No. 26 Customers and Companies

Teamwork – Negotiation – Cooperation – Strategy – Time Planning

16 to 160 participants and more. Time needed including rules explanation and determining the winners: 120-135 minutes.

There are 3 types of teams: Teams of customers, teams of big and teams of small companies. All teams compete with the other teams of the same kind to win.

You discuss strategies within your team. You visit other teams, negotiating, offering deals, arguing, cooperating and making contracts. As a company, you offer solutions for customers, trying to outbid your opponent teams. If the customer is convinced, he pays for your solution which generates a specific amount of benefit for him.

The customers’ problem is symbolized by some letters of the alphabet. Tiles with these letters are to be arranged in a specific form on a "Solution Board".

After 90 minutes, there will be 3 winners: the team of customers with the most benefit, the richest big and the richest small company.

 

No. 14 Open council

Negotiation – Reconcilement of Interests – Agreements – Strategy – Teamwork (with at least 16 participants)

8 to 16 participants or teams. Time needed including rules explanation and determining the winners: 120-160 minutes.

A city is to be built with several projects: airport, supermarket, kindergarten, cinema.... Everyone has his own preferences. In addition, nobody wants an airport close to his door. some participants will make specific propositions where to build which project. All vote for one of the proposition. The one with the most votes will be realized. At the end, participants count their points for quality of life, consisting of success as a propositioner, the interests concerning the personal neighborhood and the political attitude.

 

No. 22 Go to Jail

Cooperation – Confidence – Agreements – Strategy – Subtle Teamwork

12 to 18 participants or more. Time needed including rules explanation and determining the winners: 40-60 minutes.

Everyone has committed several crimes together with some of the others. In rounds they are accused. Everyone decides secretly if he confesses or keeps silent. If only one confesses, he is principal witness and will go into freedom, all other sentenced heavily. If all keep silent, they are punished a minimum only because of lack of evidence. Will a common confidence be generated? Or does everybody looks for his own sake? An intelligent punctuation system will make possible both. The winner is the participant with the most points after several rounds. (The game is based on prisoner’s dilemma.)
